struggles have marred his outstanding season for the Blues
WILLIAN has revealed his personal struggle behind Chelsea’s disastrous season.
The Brazilian midfielder has been one of the few highlights as the outgoing Premier League champions went into a meltdown from which they have still not fully recovered.
Ironically, a positive result for Chelsea against Tottenham tonight means the title will officially be handed over to Leicester and bring the curtain down on a dreadful year.
Willian’s 11 goals and tireless running has made him the club’s best and most consistent performer overshadowing many of Chelsea’s superstars.
But he said: “It’s difficult to go through a season like this, where you can’t win the title, where we’re out of all the competitions.
“When the team is in difficulty - which has been the case this season - it’s hard to maintain a good level of performance.
“But I try to give my best all the time. I had a good start to the season, my statistics were pretty good. I think that’s down to my will to win, whether my team-mates are in form or not. I always try and give everything.
“I still have dreams, still have objectives. I dream of winning trophies, I want to keep getting better and to become one of the best players in the world.
“I dream of winning the Champions League. It’s a trophy I absolutely want to win, like the Club World Cup. I think the most beautiful thing would be to win the World Cup.
“ I think the World Cup is the most important trophy in a player’s career.”

Chelsea will undergo a fundamental transformation with the arrival of new boss Antonio Conte in the summer to herald a new era.
The sacking of his predecessor Jose Mourinho, the row with the club doctor and terrible results made it a season to forget.
Conte has already started part-time work with Chelsea although he does not officially take over until after Euro 2016 when he will end his time as Italy boss.
Willian said: “Antonio Conte did a good job at Juventus, his record speaks for itself. He’s a great coach.
“He’s the Italy coach right now and there’s absolutely no doubt he has great quality, he works hard. I hope he will help us next season.”
